Wedding Cake Prices
How much would you pay for your wedding cake? The wedding cake is one of the most important things in the wedding reception and as happens with any type of celebration, a wedding needs a cake. Therefore, couples must take this detail into account when they start planning their wedding and they have to make sure that they get the right cake for them. As you can imagine, there are numerous bakeries across the United States and I bet that you have a pretty good one in your town as well. Well, as you probably know, wedding cakes can be quite expensive, but it all depends on what it is made of, what it has on it and how elaborate it is.
As you probably already know, wedding cakes are priced by slice, rather than by the whole thing and a slice of wedding cake can cost from $1.5 to as much as $12. Therefore, imagine that for about 100 persons, you can end up paying $1,200 for the cake. Of course, a wedding can have a lot more guests and there are couples who have huge weddings, where there are more than 250 guests. For those, buying a very expensive cake can be quite a troubling situation. Even so, you can choose the ingredients out of which the cake should be made of. Therefore, you can save up a lot of money if you know what is less expensive. Less expensive, however, does not mean better, so you should pay a lot of attention to what you choose as wedding cake.
For instance, you should know that the more intricate and complicated your wedding cake is, the more you will end up paying. Butter-cream is less expensive than fondant icing, but the latter is so delicious and wonderfully looking. Furthermore, the more elaborate the shapes, the more vibrant the colors and the more detailed the little things on the cake, the more you will end up paying for the designer’s work and labor. A good way of making sure that you do not pay too much for your wedding cake is to get the cake of your dream for about 150 people. If you are planning to have fewer guests, a smaller cake will do. Keep in mind, though, that most people eat only half the piece of cake they are given and the rest goes to waste, as do your money.
If you are currently looking to find the perfect wedding cake, make sure you choose the right one. As I have said, cheaper cake may not be exactly right for a wedding, but if you are planning the event around a very tight budget, you may have to make use of what you can get. Cheaper cakes can also look great, but they are poorer in taste. They do not taste a lot worse, but as you know, when it comes to food, more expensive always means a lot better and testier, at least in what concerns desserts and sweets. Any choice you make, make sure it is right for you, your taste and your budget.
