Area XIV Agency on Aging serves seven counties in southern Iowa – Adair, Adams, Clarke, Decatur, Ringgold, Union, Taylor. The agency provides or funds key services in our seven-county area. Area XIV Agency on Aging is one of thirteen area agencies in Iowa and part of a nationwide network of over 650 area agencies on aging. All area agencies on aging share the same responsibility under federal and state laws - to provide information and assistance and to advocate the rights of mature adults and to assist them in maintaining their dignity and independence, whether it be in their own home or an alternative care setting. We help to plan, coordinate and offer services that help seniors remain in their home. By making a range of options available, Area XIV and other AAAs make it possible for seniors to choose the services and living arrangement that suit them best.

Our Mission and History
Today's older adults are pioneers in a changing, challenging world. Many are looking forward to longer, more active lives and exciting new ways to contribute to society. We believe that older adults should have opportunities for lifelong learning in addition to a secure life, free from basic want.
Area XIV Agency on Aging was started in 1975 in response to the Older Americans’ Act of 1965.
